Note (just in case): From what I've heard, the Kinect that comes with an Xbox Bundle does not include an external power adapter. In order to work on a PC, you must have the power cable that lets you plug a Kinect into an outlet.

I haven't had this issue, but this should be a good course of action to completely reinstall the drivers:

With the Kinect plugged into your system and a power outlet, go into Control Panel - System - Device Manager

Look under "Other Devices" and "PrimeSensor" for anything that starts with "Xbox" or "Kinect". Right-click and uninstall them. Check the box for "Delete the driver software for this device", if applicable.

Then reboot and reinstall iPiStudio.

Power adapter OK.
Sensor OK ....works fine with Xbox360.

Device Manager---> PrimeSensor / Xbox NUI motor uninstall / delete OK

Reboot ....and reinstall iPirecorder OK

Sensor connect ----> XBox NUI motor driver OK

Device Manager---> PrimeSensor / Xbox NUI motor "works properly".

.....iPirecorder cannot detect Kinetic .......Kinetic green led still flashing ! (Video webcam detect OK )
Same problem with my secondary PC ( Vista 32bit ).......flashing, no Kinetic detect !!!!

Am i missing something, because i cannot find "Xbox NUI Audio" and "Xbox NUI Camera" in my system ????

Until someone with more experience with this type of issue comes along, there is one more thing I can think of to check. Make sure you're plugged into a USB 2.0 port. Preferably a USB 2.0 Enhanced (Hi-Speed) port.

Here's a guide on determining what kind of USB ports you have:

just downloaded the trial and hooked up the kinect. I am having the same problem as Hannu. The post ends before there was any resolution to his/her problem. I have done all the steps and reinstalls as directed, I have a power supply on the kinect, and all my ports are usb2.0. The kinect is listed in my devices and all drivers appear up to date. Did Hannu ever get this problem solved, if so, please advise. I am running a Asus G73jh, with windows 7. I just can't get the ipi recorder to recognize my kinect. Any other suggestions. thank you

YEEEEESSSS !!!! ITS WORKING NOW !!!

Problem: Broken poweradapter. If you cannot find Xbox NUI Camera & Xbox NUI Audio......Check your Power / usb adapter !!!
Mine Brand new.....no power.

Cut the wire, and connect 12 Volts DC ( more than 1.1 A ).....Brown wire + (Plus) and White wire - (Minus).... Wire colors for European Adapter !!

Fighting over one week with this....... :-))

Without my power plugged in, I can confirm that Device manager shows only the Kinect Motor. It doesn't show Kinect Camera or Xbox NUI Audio.

Howdy Folks,

I am getting GREAT results from ipi Kinect.

I am floored... I get about 5-9 seconds to process each frame.

I will post results soon.

You can export avis out of ipistudio right?

If not can you suggest a good screen shot program?

You can write out an AVI from DMC but be aware that there is a 2GB limit. For really long videos, I've had to render in two or more segments and assemble the in Vegas.

aybee in future version we can render avis from selected takes.

Have you noticed the ik joint limits feature,? I realize that I can tune the tracking in some of my interest takes.

I had early problems with elbow bend until I discovered this.

How fast are your ipi's processing by the way? I get about 5 to 10 frames a second processing per frame.
