Your video card (NVIDIA GeForce 6150SE) is not compatible with our software. Your video card supports Shader Model 3.0, but you need a Shader Model 4.0 (DirectX 10) compatible card to use our software.

Our software is supposed to report this problem automatically but it failed to do so because of some bug. We will fix this bug with lack of proper error message, but you still need a compatible card to our this software.

We have fixed this issue in 1.2.0.120. Since this version software should report about incompatible hardware correctly.

Hello, :)

Just to let you know that with my new computer and the video card Nvidia GTX 460, ipiRecorder and iPi Desktop Motion Capture are working well.

I have created some motion capture animations with it, but there is still a lot of work to do in my animation software in order to have animations ready for video games...

ipisoft allows me to capture the frames i need in order to create a more realistic animation but from what i have done so far, it won't replace the animator work.

Do you have any tips about improving the animation after the capture ?

Thanks,

Hello irridas, :)

What i do when i use ipisoft :
1) i open the video file
2) i browse the video to find the frame with the TPose
3) i move the ipisoft mesh forward and backward in order to be near the shape of the TPose (i don't have to move the ipisoft mesh right or left because i try to position my body in the middle of the video)
4) i set my height size
5) i press the "Refit Pose" button
6) i set the beginning of the region of interest to the frame of the TPose when i used the "Refit Pose"
7) i set the end of the region of interest to the last frame i need
8) i press the "Track Forward" button
9) When the tracking is finished i save the motion capture file in motion builder .bhv

I have not used the "enable shoulder tracking" option yet, but the animations are quite realistic. However i only keep specific frames in my animation software in order to be able to correct some translations and rotations of the bones so that the animation can be used in video games.

I'm guessing you simply neglected to mention this step but just in case, the very first thing you should do is be certain you have set a valid 'background' sequence. This step is critical to using the software as it is used to separate the performer from the environment. Go to the range currently set as the background and make sure that the frames are indeed clean (environment only, no performer). If it's not clean, you will need to offset this to a range of frames that is clean. Ideally, it should be about 30 frames.
