That is if you'll uninstall all current drivers for Kinect (from iPi and Realussion), download and install MS Kinect for Windows SDK (http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/kinectforwindows/develop/), after that update to the latest versions of iPiRecorder and iClone, then both products should work fine with it.

I have windows 7, and The MS SDK Drivers don't work for me.

When I have uninstalled Primesense and only the MS drivers are installed, launch the latest iPi Recorder, I then get a message saying "NO Cameras are detected or selected. Please conect Cameras and click here." When I uninstalled MS Drivers and reinstalled Primesense, then it works again.

So how is this possible? What can I do to have the MS SDK work for me?

Could you please provide us with screenshot of device manager when MS Kinect for Windows SDK is installed and Kinect sensor is plugged?

Version 1.0. The one that can be downloaded on the URL you provided. Technically it is version 1.0.3.190

Very strange... Have you exited from other programs which can use Kinect (like iClone) before running of iPiRecorder?

I did not have other programs that would conflict or access the kinects. I do have to say, it must not be all that strange, because it is happening. How many different computers have you tested the new version on?

When it installed, and the required components check happens, it acts as if the Primesense drivers are already installed whether that's true or not, and obviously it does not check to see if the MS SDK is installed. I'm not sure if it is a legal reason that prevents you from integrating the MS SDK into the Recorder installation or not, but it probably would be optimal if it were in there.

Any more thoughts on why my Kinects aren't recognized by iPi Recorder if I have MS SDK installed? I know as far as iClone is concerned, they say the MS SDK can only be used with Kinect for Windows device, and the Kinect for XBox will not work with the official MS SDK release (that the Kinect for XBox will only work with the MS SDK Beta).

It seems like you believe otherwise...that the Kinect for XBox device will work with the official MS SDK v1.0 release. What are your thoughts on the matter?
