After a recent thread discussing the differences I was confused. I am looking to use the dual Kinect setup with ipi DMC. I am unsure if the Kinect I am using currently is for Windows or Xbox, but if I want to buy another Kinect, should it matter which one I buy? Is one more expensive then the other?

Kinect for Windows has the "KINECT" label at front side, while Kinect for XBOX 360 has the "XBOX 360" label. Compare photos and prices at amazon:

For usage with iPi Recorder it does not matter what version of Kinect you have, they both give you the same experience. However, Kinect for Windows is the version officially supported by Microsoft on PC.

This opens up a whole lot of thought where MicroSoft may actually be heading with this. You know MS owns TrueSpace but has placed it on hold. Perhaps they may bring in back with native Kinect just like iClone. Hummm...
