We have 8 eye-toy cameras working in 50 hz, 640x480, windows 7 professional, NVidia GTX 460, 16GB ram running iPi 2.0 trial version.

When 8 cameras recorded calibration video is imported into Ipi Studio 2 and calibration is started on a range of frames (previously manually adjusting 1st camera height to 2.23, without manually adjusting initial camera locations in 3D), iPi Studio 2 crashes every time with "ipiMocapStudio has stopped working" message at the end of processing given video range.

We have tried 2 different videos and several different video ranges, but application crashes every time.

Debug button gives following info: An unhandled exception ('System.Reflection.TargetInvocationException' occured in iPiMocapStudio.exe [3012]).

Hi
Currently, iPi Mocap Studio supports only up to 6 cameras, not 8. Most probably larger number of cameras in record causes the error. However, I agree that the program should limit its capabilities in a more graceful manner than just crash.
Please try with 6 cams and writer if the error still appears.

Is that a limit of the software in general (and do you plan to remove it) or is it just limit of the trial version?

Yes, for now, maximum of 6 cameras is a software limit. Though this limit is not properly checked, as your report shows. We were not considering extending this limit due to hardware difficulties in recording videos from more cameras - number of required USB controllers, drive writing speed, CPU performance. However, as you've managed to record such video, we are looking forward to extend supported number of cameras for processing in Studio.
It will be very helpful if you could provide us with one of your sample 8-cameras videos, uploading it to your web server or some file sharing service. Also, it is interesting for us to know the specs of computer used for recording this video (USB controllers, drive, CPU).

Trial version is limited to 4 cameras for exporting resulting animation (equivalent to Basic edition). For processing, there is no such limitation.

Hi
I'm not sure you had received my emails: you had not given any answer. So I'll try this topic to contact. In the nearest time we will publish an update including experimental support for 8 cameras. Can I have your permission to share the hardware configuration you used for recording 8-cameras video with other users? It would be a straightforward answer for one of the answers which may arise.

Huh no, I didn't received your mails. Sorry for that, although I don't know what to do. Yes, you are welcome to publish my configuration. Can you provide us a temporary licence so we can test your new update and see how it works with 8 cameras? Thanks in advance.
