Image

Hi, Anton

First, we have a big request to you - please write all posts in this forum in English, so other users can understand. If you prefer Russian language support, write to Image instead.

Regarding your question. You can find detailed description of how PS Eye video is stored in AVI files in this post: http://forum.ipisoft.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=6073

Also, I have two more notes for you.
  • As you are getting an AVI file with Recorder, you are definitely using not the latest version. iPi Recorder v2 uses proprietary .iPiVideo format for storing records. Go to downloads page on our site to get the latest version of our software.
  • You need at least 3 color cameras (PS Eyes) to get reliable motion tracking results with iPi Mocap Studio.

Ok. I'm sorry for the Russian post, I saw a few of them on this forum so I decided that Russian posts are ok here.

Oh, now I understand. It seems that this four fragments are combinable into one with high definition. I see that when opened in iPi mocap programm, the video is shown correctly.
But may I ask something. I am planning to use iPi soft in my biomechanics research, and all videos captured must be sent to my expert partner so he will look it through to make sure no details are missed, and only after this the tracking itsels is going to be done. So avi format is more comfortable in this case, and the question is: are there ways to convert/watch this raw bayer video without iPi soft installed? And if there is a way to convert, will iPi mocap anyway be able to track it (I know that in case of negative answer saving a backup of original captured file is not a problem, but I'm just interested).
About 3 cameras minimum - I know, thanks, but before I get 2 more cameras I have a few days to look through the programm and get used to it's interface.
Thanks.

If you use iPi Recorder v2 (with iPiVideo format), then videos can be viewed with iPi Recorder itself. And iPi Recorder is free, so there should be no problem for your expert to install and use it as simple player for iPiVideo format. Also iPiVideo format usually have less size than corresponding AVI file, and thus is more convenient for transferring to your expert.
If by some means you are stuck with v1 of iPi Mocap Studio, you still may convert your AVI records to iPiVideo format using iPi Recorder v2. And again send it to your expert.
If your expert really does not want to install any additional software, than you can try to use Bayer->Color converting program written by one of our users. For details, see this topic:
