Most of the time I'm acting to a specific sound file, and its kind of awkward to hit play on the sound file, hit record and then hustle to the record area. It's just really hard to time it all and a little help would be great.

What I do is load the previs or animatic of our production in an video editor, set a loop region for the shot we're performing and then allow it to loop during capture. By looping single shots, you can record multiple takes and conveniently choose the one you like in iPi Studio when you're ready to track the data.

If it makes sense for the project, we might set the loop region to span multiple shots in as a single capture sequence but often times we prefer to work with single shots because it's easier to track and frame up shorter lengths of data.

Hope this helps.

G.
