@vkolo - that's pretty clever. Not sure if I want to disassemble my controllers, at least not yet since they're brand new--but if I had extras, maybe. :)

I have to say, with the hands free from gripping the device, your performance capture looks very natural.

@vmaslov - for head tracking, does it matter if the controller is not located near the pivot of the head, like on the top of the head or side? My guess is that because the software is only recording rotation it really doesn't matter so long as it is firmly fixed anywhere above the neck. Would this be correct? I know we don't have this feature yet, I'm just thinking ahead. (No pun intended.) :)

@vkolo
For now, we do not have a complete understanding how it will be organized with the head. We need to do some experimental work.
However, if we stay with the aiming method, head binding for PS Move should allow a fast attachment (maybe, some clip or adhesive). Because it is hard to aim properly with the head, better is to aim with the hand first, and then attach PS Move to the head.

@Greenlaw
Yeah, totally agree with you. Exact place on the head does not matter.

Hmm...time to start thinking about how to do this. :)

I think the idea is to free the performer's hands for a more natural performance capture experience--I can imagine any number of scenarios where this would be desirable. But yes, it's probably good to mention this to new users who might wonder if this is necessary to use the system.

@eyepies @Greenlaw

You don't need to rip off the controllers, you don't improve the motion sensors accuracy.
As Greenlaw mentioned, the idea behind this is to improve quality if you want to have even more natural motions and this works better if the actors hands are free while recording!

Hey guys!

I saw your hand tracking video and thought it was great! I'm hoping to get back into my studio soon (Uni is shut) and cant wait to test some of this stuff out!

Keep up the good work!
