I am trying to apply a BVH file to a character in Poser. When I import the character T-pose BVH file into iPi MoCap Studio Express Edition, The skeleton shows up properly. I assign the bone names to the rig and it moves through the scene like the iPi character does. When I export the BVH motion file and apply it to the character in Poser, the character goes through the movements, but stays in one place and doesn't move through the scene.

Any suggestion on how to get the figure to move through the 3d world ?

Thank you.

I'm trying to apply the BVH to the DAZ M3 character in Poser. I've also tried applying the BVH to the James character in Poser with the same results, the figure moves, but stays in place.

I have been exporting the general BVH file, but the imported bones from the M3 character are still there in the studio after the export file process is completed.

Hi there.

I'm having exactly the same problem. I set my poser character in t-pose. Export as .BVH.

Then I import via Target Character option, then is shows up inside the program.

After that, I can apply a .bvh animation to my target character inside ipi and it works fine. Perfect movement on my target character.

However, when i "export animation" my target character remains. Very frustrating.

However, with the same target character I tried "export to 3dsmax" and it exports fine. Also, it works aswell on "export to endorphin"

I'm lost at this stage and need help. Really need this to work.

Thanks

Otherwise, in which software would i be able to import my poser character AND the correct animation as i can see it in bvhacker or motionbuilder (which i don't know how to use, maybe there is something to do with this software..)

I've discovered that the BVH file exported from the iPi Motion studio will work fine when applied to the Genesis figure in DAZStudio 4.5. Since DAZStudio Pro is now a free download, I'm switching my figure animation from Poser to DAZStudio. There has been a certain amount of money needed to purchase the software that will convert all my M3 assets into something that will work with Genesis.

some news, the bvh works with another character in poser pro 2012, the old poser skeletons.
So why are they not working with m4 skeleton ? I don't know, but found that there is no IK in these characters, that's maybe the problem ? I assume this character was made to conform with M4 but i thought i could use it without that. I gonna try to characterize the bvh to M4 and conform the skeleton to him and let you know...
