Would it be possible to have an indicator on the Record page to show that data is coming in for the Move and Motion Plus devices?

Nevermind--of course it already has this feature. Duh! :p

Here's my latest test results. This was done after removing iPi DMC 2.0 and Kinect SDK 1.6, rebooting, and reinstalling all software. The faulty Kinect for XBox was replaced with a Kinect for Windows.

If anything, the right shoulder problem has become even more extreme now (possibly because my depth data is better than it was yesterday.) Here are a few frames from the tracking result.

The right shoulder does indeed appear to be rotating incorrectly. I was able to reproduce this issue by repeatedly raising and lowering my arms in different directions--each time I got the same results.

Can this issue be given top priority for a fix? This is a bit of a showstopper for me as it pretty much affects all tracking situations. Thanks in advance for your consideration.

I'll proceed with tracking down what's causing the spine bending issue now.

This is the spine bending problem in action. Here the performer is simply crouching down. This particular motion was easy to capture in iPi DMC 1.0 but it's been problematic in iPi DMC 2.0.

I suspect an issue similar to the right shoulder problem is affecting the hip--as the actor raises both legs (i.e., 'sitting' position,) the hips appear to sway to the side instead of staying level.

I'll try a new test similar to the shoulder test but designed to check the legs and hips.

Tonight I created a couple of short test videos with tracked results that should clearly demonstrate the right shoulder and the spine/hip problems. I'll send you guys a link for this data with notes later tonight or early in the morning. (US Pacific coast time.)

Thanks in advance for looking into the problem. I hope this will not be difficult to fix.

This will be a great help in resolving this problem. Waiting...

Hi Vmaslov,

I sent the link for the files and info to the emails I have in my contacts list: Michael, Pavel, and iPi tech support. Thanks again for your help!

Thank you, we've got it. We'll take a closer look at this issue in the next few days.

FYI, I just learned that the Kinect for XBox that went bad the other is my oldest one and it has been out of warranty for almost a year. Sounds like repairing it will cost exactly as much as buying a brand new one ($99 on Amazon.) Ugh!

Luckily, our second Kinect for Windows arrived this morning. I have it hooked up and the RGB in both preview panes in iPi Recorder looks so much nicer now. :)

The bent spine issue has come up for me also, and I'm experimenting with reducing character height and finding some success. I interpret it as the capture (me) being shorter than the virtual character so the virtual character has to bend at the spine in order to fit my volume. Reducing character height seems to help here, but I'd have to do dozens of tests to be sure. I have not had the shoulder issue at all.
