Maybe adding the option to use 3 or 4 kinects?
I've got some pretty nice results with the dual kinect set up, I can't help wonder how 3 or 4 kinects would improve tracking and avoid occluded areas (with two actors in the scene, for instance).

I suspect that adding more Kinects to cover the same area may increase interference, but maybe additional Kinects could be used to extend the size of the capture space? Just thinking out loud.

Good point, Greenlaw. I haven't thought about this possibility.

for each kinect you have a different usb controller(not usb port). it is big chance to find a laptop that has 2 usb controller. for desktop you can add it as pci cards. so it will not easy to use more than 2 kinects.

Check what the docking station specific to the laptop does.

Most USB controllers are now at least dual and it seems that most laptops assign one USB controller to the ports on the main laptop chassis and the other USB controller is assigned to the docking station. Although since the Kinects require their own controller, that's both of them gone already :)

That's certainly the case for two of my laptops and I got one docking station off Ebay for a very low price.

Note: I am referring to the proper docking station here and not a USB port replicator.

A suggestion for newer versions: Remove the obnoxious "loading" animation that hovers over the center of the viewport while tracking the mocap. It's annoying, I don't see any need for it, and it could be better placed somewhere NOT in the center of the frame.
