Hey guys,
as the title mentions I got a few questions and/or problems.

So I bought 2 Kinects. One is a windows kinect and the other one is a xbox kinect. The first one is plugged into usb 3.0 and the second one into usb 2.0, and I can select both in the ipi recorder, but they instantly freeze or show a black screen when I select a higher resolution then 320x240 (depth). What can I do about that?

Second problem is the positioning of my 2 kinects. I made 3 Photos to show you how they are positioned right now:

As you can see on the pictures (click to enlarge them) I positioned them facing each other. Between them is ca. 5,75 meters free space.
They are about 1 meter high.
Is it good as it is, or should I change something?

I hope you can help me.

Greetings,
Tobi

Try different USB port combinations. First, find the port on which a single Kinect works perfectly (no issues in "640x480 depth+color"). Next, connect the second Kinect to remaining USB ports one by one until both Kinects work.
FYI, there may be compatibility issues with some USB controllers. USB 2.0 ports in front and back sides of a desktop are usually connected to different USB 2.0 controllers.

The distance and height seem adequate. You may consider moving the cameras a bit away from the wall where the PC resides to get a wider capture area.

Thanks for your answer. I tried to every possible possibility with the usb ports. It's still the same problem. I made a Video, where you can see my problem better, because one kinect always works perfectly. You can also see my device manager in the video. It's a german Windows 7 Edition, but I think you can recognize everything.

I also tried a different setup. You can see it in the Video. I think it fits better in my room.
