The number of cameras you can connect to your existing USB ports depend on the number of USB controllers. For 640x480@60fps mode you'll need 1 USB controller per 2 cameras. Most probably, you've got 2 USB 2.0 controllers. In that case, you can use 4 cameras at full 60fps speed, or 6 cameras (with hub) at a lower framerate, 40-50. If you need 6 cameras at 60fps, then go with PCI (or PCI Express) USB card. Amazon has plenty of them, for example:
