Hello, I'm currently using the playstation cameras to track the motion.

I had a curious question.

I know the software is "markerless motion capture"... But

Does it hurt to wear markers on the body, such as colored strips on the wrist and ankles? Red on left, blue on the right, and so on?

Or does it make any difference.

Hi

The variations in actor clothes are limited to the settings allowed by the tracking model in our software. Currently, the left and right limbs of the model can only be of the same color.
So, adding different-colored strips won't help to track better in Mocap Studio. But, if you need these strips for some other purpose (for example, processing in another software), they should not be a dramatic problem for Mocap Studio (assuming, they have a reasonably small size).

In future versions, we may improve the model to absorb differences of the body sides. When (and if) this is available, wearing different colors on left and right will make sense to reduce tracking errors.

OK, thanks for the tip.

I have a big problem with the arms suddenly crisscrossing. Even though I have my left and right arms almost all the way out, the software will start to bend the arms until eventually they are crossed... The left arm trying to be the right and vise-versa.

Most of the tests that I have done so far, I have extended my arms out and have avoided trying to get them to come near each other, but the software still seems to all of a sudden cross the arms.

This has happened with the legs to.

I've tried filming in both 640 and 40fps and 320 at 60fps.

Arms may also confuse with the torso if you're wearing a single-color long-sleeved shirt. Tracking errors are often caused by the bad calibration.
You may provide us your video along with the scene file (use some file-sharing service), so we could take a detailed look of your troubles.
