This is the computer that I'm trying all of this on:
an ASUS X550LB. Less than a year old.

I literally just updated to Windows 8.1. Haven't even tried anything since writing this post.

This model of laptop does not have internal bluetooth installed.

I have tried 3 different bluetooth dongles:

1. The ASUS BT400 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6833320166)
2. The TrendNet TBW-106UB (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6833156257)
3. The Kensington 33348 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6834999235)

Of the 3, the Kensington was the only version that connected to my Move controller. 1 controller only. The moment that I tried to pair a 2nd Move controller with ipistudio recorder, both Move controllers read "HID Error 121". So, neither controller works. I can connect only ONE Move controller with the Kensington dongle. With the other models, the ASUS BT400 model wouldn't work and the TrendNet TBW-106UB did not connect to my Move controller(s) at all. I have been told that the ASUS model might work if I add the PID/VID numbers to the MijXinput.inf text file that will allow MotionJoy to read it.

These tests have been tried in ipirecorder V2. Not V3, the one that just came out. When I try in V3, ipistudio recorder simply crashes. I've been told that this is a bug and will be fixed soon....I hope.
In either case, connecting my Move controllers properly is my objective here. I can only connect 1 controller at present. I have some faith in re-acquiring a BT400 dongle and adding PID/VID numbers to the text document for MotionJoy. Can anyone out there give some advice?

Until fix is updated for V3, you can record in V2 recorder, if both Moves work in there now, and open new project in V3 and use V2 recorder videos and Moves data for the

tracking.

Works, I have just done it, although you will probably have to re-match the Moves to the cameras again in V3 before applying the data.

only ONE Move controller works. HID Error 121 for more than one Move controller when I try. That's my problem, not the difference between V2 and V3 yet.
The technical connection between my computer and the Move controllers is my problem. Only one connects at a time during a recording in V2. V3 needs to be fixed before I try connecting there at all.

Very sorry for confusing you with ASUS USB-BT400 model. I played with it and iPi Recorder several months ago, and as I've recalled when seeing your message, I got it working. But that is untrue actually, as I have tested now. I've just managed to install MiJ drivers for it, but never got it recognized in DS3 tool or successfully paired with PS Move (after writing dongle's MAC address to PS Move).

However, I have just tested TRENDnet TBW-106UB model, and it's working OK with 2 PS Moves (not considering the problem you've posted earlier).
Is this dongle recognized by the OS at all? I'm asking because I had problem with mine - when it's inserted to the very bottom of USB slot, the contact seems very poor and it is not visible to the system. I need to pull it out a bit to make it work.
Once visible in Device Manager, the dongle shows up in DS3 tool (USB\VID_0A12&PID_0001), and I can install MiJ driver for it and pair PS Moves to it. Then turn PS Moves on and run iPi Recorder, and they are on list.
You can also check VID and PID numbers of BT dongle in Device Manager (right-click on device, tab 'Details', select 'Device Instance Path' in combobox). So we are sure that you have exactly the same TRENDnet device as mine.

Regarding HID error with Kensington one, I may suppose that that dongle is designed to work with only one BT device at once. That's why it is causing errors when trying to connect the second PS Move.

The TrendNet dongle is recognized by MotionJoy. That much works for sure.
For whatever reason, I must have forgotten to PAIR the Move controllers in MotionJoy to this TrendNet Dongle. I was under the impression that once you paired the Move controllers once, that was it, but I learned that you must do the pairing while you're in MotionJoy with the new dongle.

No errors. Haven't tried recording, but I will soon.

To others out there without Bluetooth, I recommend the TrendNet TBW-106UB dongle. It's not sexy, but it's cheap and it works just fine with 3 Move controllers.
Make sure you install the driver for your bluetooth dongle in MotionJoy and while you're there at the same time, pair your Move controllers with the USB. Once you do that, you should be good to go. I was going crazy trying to get this work for the last few days. Finally figured out what wasn't working.
