As I've written before I suggest you to try again with Kinect SDK (and Recorder 3 if you use Mocap Studio v3). The problem might be related to internal state of the device which has been probably fixed by PrimeSense drivers.
I do not remember for sure whether PrimeSense drivers support audio. Do you have Kinect microphone array listed in audio devices in Device Manager? Or maybe some unknown audio device?

Thanks for the suggestion. For now I will leave it as it is, as I don't need audio at the moment. However it's good to know I can try Kinect SDK when I will need to sort it eventually.

I've checked and confirm that PrimeSense drivers do not expose Kinect microphone in the way that is suitable for iPi Recorder. Thus, if you need to use Kinect's mic, you should go with Kinect SDK.
