Glad it's all working for you now G

I got my 3rd BU drive recognizing in BIOS and booting properly also, for some reason I had to format it and run backup again for new system.

all good now and boot up time is faster, I reset BIOS to optimize and all good now.

I also found a little executable for changing the system window border colors/thickness, fonts, appearance and advanced appearance settings, the theme Win 10 has is awful and they took away all our most personal setting choices. Even from the registry, they took away options.

If you don't know about it, it's called WinaeroTweaker, works well and no drain on the system. Download: http://www.winaero.com

I also figured out what I was not doing, that needs to be done for some custom rigs in Webanimate. (Haven't run full scenario tests, but it is needed sometimes).

I had to select the spine joints and tick the box called limit.

This limits the movement of the selected bones and allows for better adjustments and more realistic movement.

For motions such as dancing with extreme movements, or any extreme spine bends it helped.

I am interested in hearing some feedback for users of the Kinect V2 with iPi, not a lot listed, also using it with Win 10.

I have seen it in Brekels' Pro Body V2 and looked ok, not sure how it does on extreme motion, wasn't really shown doing any, and isn't capable of using more than one Kinect, but is Live streamable to MoBu and V2 has better joint recognition which is great, but real-time captures look to be a bit glitchy, tracking with iPi may be a bit better.

If anyone has any videos to post using Kinect V2 with Win 8/10 in iPi please post them, also interested to see if just 1 Kinect V2 will capture 360 body rotations better or at all.

I am going to get 1 anyway soon to run Pro Face V2, so I will be finding out eventually anyway, just wanted to view some user feedback or videos and if it can handle extreme motions well.

I tested makeamos' suggestion to export from iPi without running JR at all and with running it at very low settings on each part as I do.

Wondering what version of iPi you are using now, or in your videos? I am testing this in Version 3, I don't have V2 installed at the moment to try it.

Thanks for pointing that out, more testing needed, some files with less motion don't perform as well as others starting with more motion, but not bad either.

What I am seeing is pretty similar results either way, but still seems they to be exported with a higher TF value, but you do save the time of running the JR, so not a bad thing.

I will continue to run some files to get a better evaluation on different actions.

I'm almost done with getting our render farm upgraded to Windows 10, which will allow use to use multiple Kinect v2 devices with Mocap Studio. Ugh...upgrading and working on the network kinks took way longer than I like but at the moment it looks like we may be up and running again later tonight.

Since the motivation for upgrading our home studio to Windows 10 was to be able to use Kinect v2 with Mocap Studio, I've decided to pick up two v2 Kinects in the next week or two. I guess we'll also need to add two USB 3 controllers and cables too.

Will let you know how it's going when we get there.

Great, would love to see, good luck, hope all goes well, I saw some stuff with them used on other programs, but not much with iPi, except the demos iPi put out.

Here is one in iPi of how I think it would actually perform... Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LOgH-iCe5aw

Real-time with Brekel seems a little jumpy at times, though does have finger tracking, but I see he is also attempting a dual camera capability that may help, with just a one time charge for the program.

Makeamo put out some videos using it, and importing into Webanimate that looked pretty good. I think all he uses also is Kinects.

One done in Brekel, I think would be pretty accurate to it's ability... Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wzVukHewI-o

Need to read up on them in iPi docs to see if 2 can be run on one machine with Win 10, not sure that's possible, probably not, I have a good Laptop I can use for recording if 2nd machine is needed.

That's over $350 min. just in 2 cameras and 2 adapters and 2 more cables, so I would like some good feedback first on the dual camera setup.

Thanks. Getting two Kinect v2 devices is really just 'baby steps' for now. What I'm really interested in is using the new quad Kinect setup, which requires v2. The real game changer with Kinect based capture happens when you use two devices, and at present, only iPi Mocap Studio is capable of capturing from four Kinect v2 devices.

The thing to remember is that using two Kinect devices is the equivalent of using four 2D cameras because you have the addition of z-depth coverage from each device. Following that logic, having four Kinect devices should be the equivalent of capturing with eight 2D video-based devices.

We actually have a few years of experience using dual and triple Kinect v1 setup for personal projects as well as commercial feature film work, going all the way back to when multi-Kinect was still an experimental feature in iPi Desktop Motion Capture 1.0. What we found was that the dual/triple Kinect v1 system has been surprisingly effective for creating digital stunt doubles and other vfx applications. And I'm talking in terms of quality as well as low cost. The fact that we can set up the system and start recording in under five minutes, in a fairly small room, has been incredibly convenient compared to our PS3 Eye setup.

Despite the Kinect v2 device's higher resolution, I'm not really expecting a dual v2 system to perform that much better than a dual v1 system. TBH, I'm not even expecting it to perform as well our current triple v1 system because it essentially has a third less coverage. But four Kinect v2 devices...now that sounds like it should produce noticeably cleaner and more accurate results than what we're seeing now.

To start off, I only want try out the dual v2 system, just to see if it will even work in our studio, and compare the dual v2 quality to the dual v1. No sense immediately investing in more devices if it doesn't work out. But, on the other hand, if dual v2 does perform well as the dual v1 system (or better,) then I'll immediately advance to the next step and get two additional v2 devices to try out the quad v2 system.

I'm also interested in upgrading to v2 to further insure we'll be using iPi Mocap Studio into the foreseeable future. In the three+ years we've been using multi-Kinect for production work, we've had two devices go bad, and spare Kinect for Windows v1 devices have become nearly impossible to find at a reasonable price. Luckily, we managed to track down a couple of 'educational' v1 devices before the prices stupidly sky-rocketed but I know even these spares won't last forever.

Realistically, even if we assembled the new gear quickly, our first Kinect v2 tests is probably several weeks away because we're in the middle of production now and committed to finishing up using our current setup. But once we get this project out of the way, I'll start posting test videos using the new system.

Stay tuned; I think this is going to get very interesting. :)

I went ahead and picked up one, just to see the results on both programs with one myself, I can't have more than 2 set up with Basic Studio, but one will give me

a basic idea of its head-on abilities, but I don't think will be better than my current set up of PS Eyes, even if I could use 4-V2's, but would be interested in seeing the

results from 4 when you get that far.

I re-set up and tested captures with 2-V1 Kinects and the editing in Webanimate, but haven't had a chance to record the results yet.

I will try when I compare the V2 to V1 and my set up all on one video.

I know this might sound crass,

I am getting the best results with one kinect v1

For even 360 degree turns.

Heres demonstrations https://youtu.be/zsDmFZSVxbM and
https://youtu.be/9Kh59G2_BLg and https://youtu.be/-Ihp6jwQTNE

Here I used ipi 3 recorder and iPi3 express,

I could run all over the room , fall down, rotate 360, etc no problems.

As far as smoothing, Ive realized that I wasnt using what iPi has properly.

So using a combination of TF and JR (on low settings) is not that bad,.

And I still usually use Webanimate for all my ipi Stuff anyways.

I have looked on your video. I confirm that there are some small movements of the arms when an actor is looking quite still. Not as obvious as in your initial sample though.
