I think that was the problem--I had it on a USB 3.0 cable. I guess I'll try switching it to a USB 2.0 port before going to bed.

Nope, still getting the same errors. Both the BT211 and the PS Move appear to be failing driver installation with MotioninJoy.

vmaslov, do these errors sound familiar?:



The source of the MiJ drivers is from the link suggested in the Wiki.

Oh, wait...I'm guessing Win 10 is blocking the installation even though I have UAC disabled. I'm going to try launching MiJ as Administrator and see if that helps.

Nope, still no good. I tried both enabling 'Run this program as an Administrator' from the compatibilty properties and also tried Right-Clicking Run as Administrator. Doing either or both did not help.

Quick question before I turn in for the day: The MotioninJoy website seems to gone. Since the software requires internet connection, does this mean it no longer works properly? If so, is there an alternative for Win 10 computers?

Just wondering--I have no previous experience with using the MotioninJoy drivers.

Okay, after some rest, I came back for another round. This time I got it to work.

If you get the error listed above, you need to disable Windows 10's Driver Signature Enforcement. To do this, follow these steps:

1. Under the Windows menu, select Settings.
2. Enter 'Recovery' in the 'Find a setting' box.
3. Select 'Recovery options'.
4. Click on 'Recovery'.
5. Under 'Advanced startup' click on 'Restart now'.
6. A menu will appear. Choose 'Troubleshoot'.
7. Another menu will appear. Choose 'Advanced options'.
8. Under 'Advanced options' choose 'Startup Settings'.
9. Select 'Restart'.
10. In a few moments, another menu will appear. Press '7' on your keyboard to choose 'Disable Driver Signature Enforcement'. Windows will restart.

When you return to the desktop, the MotioninJoy DS3 Tool should now be able to load the drivers properly.

Curiously, before I did any of this, my three PS Moves had been reported by Windows Bluetooth panel as being paired and connected (from back in Windows 7, I imagine) but the devices had not shown up in Recorder. However, after successfully installing the MiJ drivers, all three PS Move controllers suddenly appeared in Recorder--I did not need to pair them again for Windows 10.

To be clear, this was even after the BT adapter had been unplugged and plugged multiple times to various USB ports on this computer.

Also, I think the BT adapter should work with a USB 3.0 port. When I was still on Win 7, I'm almost positive that my BT adapter was plugged into a USB 3.0 controller alongside the Kinect v1 devices. I don't know if this is still true for Win 10 though...will check on that later.

Anyway, at the moment, it looks like I'm back in business.

Now, if I can just get one or two more computers to work with Kinect v2., I'd be all set. :)

Yes, exactly right what you did, disabling Driver Signature, I had to ask too to get it to work, forgot to mention that.

Yes, when upgrade to Win 10 from 7, the Moves will look as though connected, but aren't once reset, since you have to use the DS3 Tool for Win 10.

Yes, once BT 211 drivers are loaded, it will work in a 3.0 port, (that's is where I plug mine in on a front panel port while using the PS Eye set up), but most likely not once you initialize your Kv2 cam, it will most likely freeze 5 or so seconds into running, you may even get a freeze on initialization anyway, Win 10 loads the drivers for cam and audio on each use, to over ride that freeze, I just went into the NEW settings panel for Win 10/Devices/Connected Devices and removed the Kinect Cam, then unplugged it from the USB port and re-plugged it and freeze issue stopped. (1 alternative).

Bandwidth draw was less for Kv1, so you may have been using a 3.0 port then for the dongle.

It is stated in the Kv2 MS docs not to have any other 3.0 devices plugged into a 3.0 port while running the cam, or issues may occur and did for me, but try it and see, may be different for each machine/user.

Yes, figuring the drivers should go along with the dongle, port change shouldn't affect them, but if for some reason a user has an issue, re-pairing may be the only fix.

Mine so far (xx) are working just fine and connect every time, (even on port change), either by turning them on first, or after the recorder is started and hitting the refresh button.

I actually resold my Kv2's and PC adapters, the results just weren't what I was looking to get, (yes, better than Kv1 for sure), for some users they may be the appropriate choice for space and ease of use, if their computers will handle running them.

I tested Brekels Pro Face 2 while I had them, but decided I will just wait and get one again if needed later for facial animations.

You can also use a Kv2 with an open source driver someone developed for use as a web cam for at least Skype and Google Talk, for those interested.

I tested it and it does work fine, and in very high definition.
