The latest release of recorder, as one of the release notes, says it detects multiple Kinect 2's on the same machine:

"Detecting if several Kinect 2 sensors are connected to the same PC".

I *assume* this means that you could have more than one connected but still only use one at a time, since my understanding is there is no way the bandwidth is available for doing more than one on a single machine. Does anyone know if that's what it means?

And, if so, I'm not quite sure what the point would be, other than to confuse yourself (I mean, yes, if you have the money I guess it would be nice to just have them all around, two or three on all your machines, and then just pick and choose what configuration you'd like OF ONE ON EACH MACHINE but I also think this would lead to a lot of problems in your setup).

Actually, we have many requests to tech support saying 'I connect 2x Kinect v2 sensors but iPi Recorder sees only one'. People just overlook notes about the limitation on the web site and in docs.
Now, iPi Recorder detects how many Kinects v2 are connected to a PC (in the list of hardware identified by OS). If more than one, then it displays a warning with the link to docs about distributed recording.
So, it's just a matter of better issue resolving for users.

Okay, that makes sense.

I thought having to use two different machines would be a pain in the ass but it's actually not bad at all -- I just use my laptop for the other Kinect.
