As described on the title. I tried the marker and the board. I'm using two kinect 2 with distributed recording. Here are link to my videos. I have many more videos if you wish to see them with every variation I could think of: less light, more light, less movement, more movement. brighter light, smaller light. I don't know what to do. Please help.

I see you do it wrong.

When calibrating with the "board" method. You should keep a board facing (or backing) depth sensors. And move it closer to and further from sensors, and from side to side. So that sensors always see it as a rectangle. Look at the sample video.

When calibrating with the "light" method, a light marker should not be that big. You say that you tried to use smaller light, please provide this video as well - I'd take a look at it.
If you have PS Move controller - you can use it, as it has a good size. See wiki to find out how to make it glow with iPi Recorder.

To add to the above, moving the board back and forth helps Mocap Studio tell the two sensors apart and makes it clearer which sides of the room they're on. If you stand in one place, the software can easily confuse the two sensors and may swap their locations in the scene.

For 180 degree capture with the board, I will stand to one side, holding the board with one hand, and walk closer to one sensor and then the other. (I use a large foam core board so it's easy to carry with one hand.)

For 90 degree capture with the board, hold the board far from your body and move back and forth and from side to side.

You may even angle the board so it can track the shape in perspective. This can improve accuracy but don't turn the board too much as it may deflect the IR and generate errors. To be clear, it's more important to move back and forth.

For the light method, if you have a Move Controller, you can also use the illuminated ball on the device for calibration. With the light method, be careful of reflecting surfaces in the room, particularly mirrors and windows and even the floor. If Mocap Studio sees multiple reflections of the light, it can't track accurately.
