I wear white socks in my capture sessions and this seems to work well for me. Plus, under bright lights, shadows don't appear much against pure white socks. (This
test video I posted a few months ago is an example.)
Contrast with minimal shadows is the key, so the ideal clothing depends on lighting conditions and environment (background and floor.)
