I'm using MotionBuilder with iPi.

When I'm looking at MotionBuilder's display at a certain frame number for the exported bvh from iPi, it would be great to also have iPi Studio open on another monitor so that I could view the original motion from all camera views.

As I'm working within a region of interest, it would be great if in addition to showing the absolute frame number (as it does now), if it would show the relative frame number from the start of the region of interest.

This would make it a lot easier to look at the exact same frame in iPi Studio as in MotionBuilder, so that I could make adjustments if necessary based on the original motion.

Also, a few small requests.

When iPi does it's calibration, it would be great if it played a sound or wav file to indicate that it's finished.

Same for tracking a shot.

I'd like to also see a small timer, so that I can set the timer and have time to get downstairs and get set up before it begins recording. It would be great if there were maybe 5 short beeps, one second apart (or some better method) to indicate when the timer is about to start recording.

Also, add a menu option to trim the source video to the region of interest. This would save a lot of space for the recorded files, and allow us to discard the unused portions of a clip.

BTW - Just successfully applied an iPi captured bvh to a JimmyRig rigged T pose character using MotionBuilder - so this is going to be very workable!!!!

Can't wait until my new cameras arrive to be able to test 6.

Also, PLEASE take a look at the problem where recording compressed works, but will only open in VLC, not in iPi Studio as I reported in another thread. I'm very worried that I won't be able to record uncompressed with 6 cameras. I'm running 'win7-64 Pro on a dual Xeon box with 24GB, GTX-285 2GB. Other than this one issue with the compressed file crashing iPi Studio, I have not had a single crash, so the software is VERY stable.

Please change the play button to pause when clicked.

This is how most audio program work, so you don't have to move the mouse and can quickly play and pause.

Thanks!

McWannabe, hello!

First of all, thank you for very valuable propositions. I hope we'll implement most of them in near future (we already have some time line improvement issues in our roadmap).

As to problems with compressed video. Could you please share some of the problematic video file? It sould help us to daig the problem.

Many thanks!

here are downloads to two video files.

One was recorded at 'best quality'

https://www.yousendit.com/download/dklw ... SHhjR0E9PQ

the other at 'smallest file'

https://www.yousendit.com/download/dklw ... VWswTVE9PQ

Both will open in VLC, but both will crash iPi studio.

They are recorded at 40fps 4 cameras using Playstation 3 on Win7-64 Pro.

We have downloaded this video file. Indeed, iPiDMC crashes during playing of this files. It is because of extremely small length of this videos (only a few frames). That is, it is bug in our software, but the priority of this bug is very low due to in real life video you should have much more frames.

Have you problems with video wich longer than 5 sec?

Yes, I originally saw this bug with a normal length recording of a few minutes. I just sent you a small file due to bandwidth limitations.

It has been 100% repeatable.

McWannabe, I see. Then I have the following two questions:

1. Can this video files be played with the aid of Windows Media Player?

2. Could you please share longer video file which cann't be played with the aid of iPi DMC?

here is a download of 50MB recorded at 'smallest file'

https://www.yousendit.com/download/dklw ... UjVFQlE9PQ

It will open in Windows Media Player and VLC (videolan.org), but will crash iPi studio.

It is recorded at 40fps with 4 cameras using Playstation 3 on Win7-64 Pro.

Yes, we can reproduce crashing with this video. Thank you for accurate reporting. We'll include fix for this problem in the nearest update. And meanwhile you can use workaround: don't play video near end of time lne.

Thanks for looking at the problem!

But, I don't understand. iPi Studio crashes when I try to open the file. Also with much longer files.

I don't have the opportunity to play it at all, so I can't avoid playing 'near the end of the timeline'.

Thanks!
