Hi guy!

First, congratulations on getting Build 112 out. This is the best version of iPi Studio yet and I'm very excited about it! The results I'm getting now are very professional looking, and the quality is definitely raising the production level of our short film.

The main attraction in 112 for me is the new Configurable Jitter Removal. I'm finally able to get the rig very stable while preserving subtle but important movements. However, I'm running into one 'issue' when I try to use different settings of CJR over a single video; where the CJR settings change, I'm seeing a bit of a jump in the motion that's hard to avoid. I'm guessing this is just the nature of the new system and it may be something we have to live with, but if it's possible to 'smooth out' the transitions between different settings in a future build, that would be the next big improvement for me. (Maybe a curve envelope for each body part that the user can set keypoints to over the duration of a video?)

Anyway, if anybody else needs to mix CJR settings and you're having problems with the little 'hiccup', try this: save out a .bvh of the entire sequence using just one setting, and then save a different .bvh for each of the different settings you want to use. Then, using Animeeple or Motion Builder, bring each .bvh in as a clip and blend the data where you want a smooth transition in CJR settings.

I recommend the following workaround. After you finished applying jitter removal to different segments of your motion, change the Region of Interest to cover all of your motion (e.g. multiple segments processed with different jitter removal setting). Change Trajectory Filtering setting to 0 (zero). Then change it back to 1 (or other suitable value). This will "glue" together different segments in a more smooth way.

We'll try to make it more automatic in future versions, but for now this workaround should be helpful.

I must have stumbled upon this 'trick' a couple of times without realizing it, because sometimes I got very smooth results but I didn't understand why or how the bumps in the motion were getting fixed. Thanks for explaining this.

Later today I'll try using multiple CJR settings on a shot followed by your Trajectory Filtering 'reset' suggestion. I'll let you know what happens.

(iPi Studio seems to get better every day...even without software updates.) :)
