I was wondering how many USB controllers you have in your computer. Most computers have two on-board controllers, and you may need to experiment with different USB port combinations to get the 'two camera per controller' ratio. To get six you will likely need to get a separate USB controller to handle the two additional cameras. Also, you mention a RAID 0 drive. Is this a drive separate from the one with the operation system? iPi recommends that you do not record to the same drive that the operating system is on.
In my experience, you should be able to get 60 fps from four cameras with a fast quad core and a separate 7200 rpm SATA (non-RAID) drive for recording. To get six cameras to work with a quad core, you will very likely need to an SSD to record to. (Contrary to iPi official specs, which recommends a six core system for six cameras.)
BTW, until recently, my system was a i7 quad core with 2 USB3/SATA 6 GB controllers and second internal 7200 rpm SATA. The OS is Windows 7 Pro. I was using one of the two on-board USB controllers for two cameras and one USB 3.0 card for two more, and the second USB 3.0/SATA 6GB card was for the internal SATA 6GB drive. This got me full res at 60 fps with no problem. I probably could have used the two on-board controllers for the cameras though, but I happened to have a second card in an old computer so I just cannibalized that.
When I bought two more cameras, I also upgraded the computer with an SSD (on the recommendation of another iPi user.) Now I'm using the on-board controllers and the two the USB 3.0 cards for the six cameras, and the SSD for recording. I did a bandwidth test after I installed the SSD and it seems like it will work even though my computer is only a quad core. I'll know for sure tomorrow.
