Hello, I've recently bought 4 sony playstation eyecams for ps3 after reading about iPiSoft, and set up a room with all the cameras ready to calibrate, then recorded the calibration video with the marker as the wiki said, then installed iPiSoft and set the trial key I was given on the forums...

I've recorded the video (after checking I was able to get 60 fps with the cameras, everything seems to be alright there). I record the video with the spirals going down, and the rectangle limits with the ending center, obviously adding a 2 seconds with no actors/markers in the scene. I've recorded it and then processed the calibration video on ipisoft. It takes around 3 or 4 hours to process, and after checking it, I've seen it never gets it totally right. On the first try, I had a 98% mischeck. On the second, I had a 10% of mischeck, but the fourth camera got insanely tilted and everything was disoriented in it (Even if the other cameras were alright)

I've tried a few more calibrations but no luck so far. I said "Ok, I'll try to record it like this."
On first record, everething was recorded perfectly except the arms. Legs and torso were totally alright, but the arms imploded. On my last calibration attempt, I tried changing the conflictive camera position and placed it between camera 1 and 2, recording the upper body though, otherwise it would cut my head. I tried calibrating and it was worse than ever. Got a 20% mischecks but the ground points were not recognized and now the camera which worked fine before was automatically set to 4999 meters of distance in each XYZ axis...

I've got some objects in the background but from the iPiSoft videos I've seen, seems like they also have objects in background and the capture is alright, but in mine, arms just won't go, it won't even recognize a simple waving.

I've also done FOV, I've tried with disabling the auto positioning and FOV, and I've tried enabling it too. Nothing works. I've also tried with lower FPS (actually the best result was in one of the 30 fps takes).

Anything that I could be doing wrong or workaround limits? I have 3x3 meters available for movement.

It is hard to say what is wrong without seeing your calibration video. I recommend that you send us your calibration video and we assist you with calibration. We promise we will use your video only for debugging. The best way to send us a video is to compress it using Xvid codec ( http://www.xvid.org/Downloads.15.0.html ) and VirtualDub ( http://www.virtualdub.org/ ) (this is free software), upload it to some file sharing server like filefactory.com and send us a link.

If you cannot send the video then at least post a screenshot of what is happening with your calibration video.

What is the model of your video card? Three hours for processing calibration video is VERY slow. Normally, on a fast video card it takes several minutes. Consider running iPiStudio on faster hardware. A mid-range desktop gaming-class video card should be much faster.

Hello Michael Nikonov, thanks for your reply.

Which address should I send them to? I could compress it and send them. Should I also send the projects/scenes too?

Today I've tried recalibrating again using different camera positions, making them almost at the same height, it kinda improved a bit, and mischecks were around 2%, 8%, 13%~18%. I've tried tracking motion with them and it seems to go well, but from time to time, the hand tends to go to my shoulder instead to where I am waving it to. I'm starting to think it is a problem of calibration, but I didn't make the software and I am quite inexperienced with it, so I can't start jumping into conclusions myself.

It improves the speed if I change the framerate from 60 to 30 fps, from what I've seen, making it around 1 or 2 hours of calibration time.
The videocard is a laptop's Ati Radeon HD 3200. I'm not too much into laptop's videocard, but I did the processing there since it was the computer I recorded the video into. I could always send them to my main computer's 9800 GTX+ to process, if it makes much of a difference.

Thanks again.
