Not exactly sure if this is the type of forum for this, but basically any camera will do depending on your price range. I've always been a fan of Canon, and own a Canon 3 chip mini DV camera. You can get camcorders that record on flash memory which is becoming popular. If this is only a vacation camera, then you probably don't need HD and therefor don't need to spend anything over $300.00.

Good brands are Canon, Sony, Panasonic.
