Well having a high end machine really does help, I recently went out and bought a new graphic card to run some software and upcoming games and now iPi Studio when it’s processing goes crazy fast.

Ho CraOKALo.

How fast is crazy fast and what kind of a card did you get?

Also I heard it helps to record and process on a seperate hard drive, Can anyone confirm this as I do not.

Thanks and Cheers

My system is a quad core I-5 with 6 gigs of ram (up-gradable), with a 1 tb hdd and a 2 tb Nvidia grapgics card. With 6 cameras, I can render at about 2 seconds a frame for long renders. He really shouldn't need more than that. Even with a 1 tb graphics card (which are inexpensive these days), he should be just fine.

Greenlaw swears by it. As of now I just record to my system drive, but when I start on my feature I'll use an external to save on system resources.

An SSD makes a HUGE difference for recording motion data, especially from multiple cameras. I don't think it matters much when tracking though. For tracking it's all about the graphics card.
