As you know, I'd asked for this as well many years ago. I still feel that way, though maybe a lot less so since iPi tracks so much faster now. (Back then, it took 10 times longer or more to 'rough track' a scene.)
Anyway, I think if the user is confident that iPi Mocap Studio will get through most of the footage without errors, batch processing is certainly worth considering.
For example, my typical workflow during 'Happy Box' was to just let iPi do an unsupervised 'rough track' and then come back several minutes later to fix any problems. This obviously works for simple motions but that was certainly the case during 'Happy Box'--I did have to edit motions in my animation program but there was actually very little error correction required in iPi Studio. The only shots that required constant supervision during tracking involved the 'spinning chainsaw dance', which of course, was a fairly complex motion for two front positioned Kinects to follow.
It's been a little different for the capture used in Brudders 2 though. I don't think the motions in this production. In Brudders 2 the characters are more active and they're performing very specific motions that need to be tracked accurately, so this time I'm having to pay much closer attention during the track. In this situations, batch processing is less useful.
So, batch processing can be a good option to have in some situations and probably a waste of time in other situations, but it will be nice if the option was there to be used when needed.
But I agree--I'd much rather see some specific bug fixes and overall speed improvements first. :)
