Probably is the dongle model that's the issue then, try the ones listed lower from the link above, but I have an IOGear 521 USB 3.0 that is sold in store at Walmart for about 11-14 bucks and it pairs fine with the iPi update, but I am on Win 10, forgot to state that.

I'm going to bring all that I've learned along with the forum posts here to the attention our IT man. I hope we solve something.

I can't believe pairing is such a pain. This used to be a snap but now, I can't do anything. I wrote to ipisoft asking if there's a walk through link and/or video demonstrating the pairing process. Only wrote that request this morning but I hope I get a response.

This is what I want and don't have anymore. Just a Kinect v2 test in my company hallway. Those Move controllers don't work anymore presently:

Yeah, not sure why not working now for you, the update must work for most people or there would be more complaints about it in the forum.

Maybe someone on here still using a WIn 8 machine can chime in, but most people just went ahead and upgraded to 10, or stayed with 7, but has to be one user, other than you, using Win 8 still and using the new update for pairing.

Have you tried a new dongle yet, one from the list, you have a Trendnet 107, the list says works with Trendnet 106, so I don't know what the difference is in the 2, but could be something.

True, if iPi can't locate it, then no good for your needs for Moves for sure.

Did you uninstall Motionin Joy drivers for BT adapter and controllers? If BT adapter still has MiJ driver installed instead of standard Windows driver, then it is not visible to iPi Recorder and pairing procedure fails for that reason. If you have alreday uninstalled MiJ DS3 tool (or it does not show UI to install/uninstall drivers), then try to uninstall devices in Windows Device Manager. Locate devices for BT adapter and motion controllers, right-click and select Uninstall, then reboot the OS.

There's a link to a video of the pairing procedure in iPi Recorder at the bottom of this page:
http://docs.ipisoft.com/Motion_Controllers

TrendNet TBW-106UB and TBW-107UB differ in range - the former having up to 100m (Class 1), and the latter up to 10m (Class 2).

We have a desktop PC with windows 10. Pairing took all of 20 seconds using the same BT dongle. (See attached). So is this my problem? The OS ? I can't seem to connect the Kinect v2 cameras through the USB 3.0 sockets which is a problem I fear once I get this OS on the laptops, but the PS3 cams work fine

So you finally got the Moves working with the dongle then? If so, glad to hear that. :)

It sounds like you're trying to get more than one Kinect 2 sensor plugged into the computer. That's not possible, you can only connect one Kinect 2 per computer. The other sensors need to be on separate computers on the network.

If you're having trouble getting just one Kinect 2 to connect, there can be a number of reasons, like the incorrect SDK installed or incompatible USB 3.0 chipset. Make sure you have the Kinect 2.0 SDK installed, and check the Kinect Configuration Verifier tool to be sure the USB chipset is compatible.

Note that in some cases the Verifier may not recognize the chipset but it may still be compatible. This is the case with my Windows 10 tablet computer, which uses an intel chipset for almost everything. Both the Kinect sensor and the built-in blue tooth (also Intel) has been compatible, even though Verifier doesn't recognize them. Verifier does show that they function properly though.

I should also mention that there are some computers that simply won't work well for Kinect 2. My daughter's fairly modern HP laptop, for example, does seem to be compatible with Kinect 2 but it's not fast enough to sustain a full framerate. Or my older 'rendering' computers on our network (maybe 5 or 6 years old)--I've tried various USB 3.0 cards in them and, while some were just barely compatible according to Verifier, it was never good enough to get Kinect 2 to run well with them.

Currently I'm able to use my old workstation (a 6-7 year old HP Pavilion) for one Kinect 2 and a Wacom Cintiq Companion 2 tablet computer for one Kinect 2 and three PS Move devices. In this situation, the tablet is actually faster than the workstation(!) even though I still use the workstation for tracking with Mocap Studio because the graphics card is better there.

Oh, that reminds me, the graphics card and driver can also affect compatibility so be sure to check that. I think this is the main reason Kinect 2 doesn't work well with my daughter's computer and possibly why it doesn't with my old 'render' boxes. (For the 'render' boxes, it's probably more likely that the motherboards are too old to support the necessary throughput.)

I'm definitely aware that only one Kinect V2 per machine works. Not sure about the other issue about chipsets. I thought the recorder software prompted you upon first use to install all SDK for all cameras. I don't know if I'll plan to use this desktop beast we have (200gb RAM!). But it worries me that once I have windows 10 running on my laptops (2 of them presently) that I'll have to work around how to get these working. Downloading windows 10 now. Going to go through with installation. Haven't got much to lose and if it pairs as good as the desktop....within seconds....I'll be in good shape. I hope. Stay tuned:)

So you're having problems connecting Kinect 2 to the desktop on Win 10? I guess this beast has several USB 3.0 controllers some of which may be incompatible with Kinect 2. For instance, my MB has 2 USB 3.0 controllers + 1 PCIe USB 3.0 card. And Kinect 2 only works when connected to ports of Intel USB controller, other two don't work.
Just try all available USB 3.0 ports.

That's not a beast, that's a monster! :)

No bueno:( I looked online that what might have to be done is perform a clean install of the OS? I sure hope not cause that might not happen. The monster pc simply doesn't read the Kinect in 3.0 ports and I did try them all:/. Just worried when I go to windows 10 on laptops this may be similar problem that needs solving, but I might be more flexible to go from scratch there if that helps me get the right sdk working. A lot of hope in the air. Most of what I hope to shoot will be PS3 camera setups but Kinect is good for stuff in a pinch without nearly as much setup and calibration, so I hope that works again. First things first. I need motion controllers. It connected to a monster pc that isn't moving anywhere. Still on that mission. Thank you all for responding:). Hugs!
